Job Summary
The mission of the Tzu Chi Medical Foundation is to provide quality medical, dental, alternative medicine and vision care, along with health education and other health services to income disadvantaged residents regardless of their age, gender, race or religious affiliations with inspiring love and humanity to both the givers and receivers.
Our busy medical practices in Alhambra is searching for dedicated Medical Assistant staff members to join our team. Clinic hours are Tuesday - Saturday 8am - 5pm.
Provides front and back office assistance to physicians, PA/NPs, acupuncturists, optometrist, and dental team for our clinic patients under Nursing Director's supervision. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own professional practice. Works collaboratively with clinical operations team members. Assist with clinical care services/programs, which includes patient experience, patient safety, HEDIS quality measures, financial goals, etc. Demonstrates performance consistent with the strategic plan of the organization and BTCMF mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records via EMR.
- Recording and collecting patient charges.
- Measure and record vital signs accurately for patients.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff in various medical procedures and examinations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare team members.
- Support coding processes for accurate billing and documentation of patient care services.
- Engage with patients to provide information about their treatment plans and answer any questions they may have.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care quality.
- Keeps equipments operating, maintain medical supplies inventories and place order as needed.
- The Medical Assistant is also required to perform other duties as may be assigned by the Foundation’s management.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical administrative support tasks, including familiarity with electronic health records systems.
- Strong understanding of vital signs measurement techniques and patient assessment protocols.
- Experience in inpatient care settings, with an emphasis on providing compassionate patient care.
- Familiarity with procedures and the ability to assist in various clinical tasks effectively.
- Competence in medical coding practices to ensure accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Experience:
· Medical assisting: 1 year (Required)
