Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Registered Dietitian is responsible for initiating nutritional care of patients within one month of admission including:
- Nutritional history
- Collaborating with MD for diet prescription (or obtaining diet order from referring facility)
- Nutritional assessment.
- Nutritional care plan.
- Document note (may include care plan).
Registered Dietitian is responsible for nutritional counseling to all Hemodialysis patients in the facility, as outlined by federal and state regulations and in accordance with physician diet prescriptions.
Participates in the development and implementation of facility policies for nutritional care of all dialysis patients.
Registered Dietitian is responsible for developing or obtaining patient diet teaching materials.
Registered Dietitian is responsible for maintaining dietetic registration and continuing education hours as specified by the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
Responsible for on-going nutritional education of in-center patients with regard to their prescribed diet and how it affects their dialysis therapy.
Reviews monthly lab work on an individual basis and counsel patients accordingly.
The Registered Dietitian maintains current progress notes for all patients in compliance with facility policy to assures compliance with ESRD regulations.
Shares nutritional information with multi-disciplinary team members. Utilizes a team approach to addressing patients’ nutritional needs.
Registered Dietitian maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Registered Dietitian communicates with the following as necessary: hospitals, long-term care facilities, short-term facilities, family members, home service providers, meal on wheels programs, local community service feeding programs, nutritional supplement representatives.
Responsible for upholding facility policies as delineated in the policy and procedure manual.
Registered Dietitian participates in state and federal facility inspections as needed.
Registered Dietitian participates in pertinent in-service classes.
Participates in QAPI conferences, and all meetings that concern the care of patients in the clinic.
