Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) - Responsibilities
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) provides speech and language services to students under the clinical supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), educational goals, and applicable federal and state regulations. The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant supports students in developing communication skills necessary for academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and successful participation within the educational environment.
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant collaborates closely with the supervising SLP, teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to implement appropriate intervention plans and support student progress across educational settings. This position supports students in accessing educational opportunities within the least restrictive environment while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedural requirements.
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant reports directly to the Administrative Team and works under a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)- Qualifications
- Associate's Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) required
- Experience working with school-age children in educational, clinical, or pediatric settings preferred.
Job Type: Part time, hourly
Schedule: Flexible, based on student need (school hours can range 7:30AM -4PM)
Number of Hours: 20-30 hours/week
Salary: $28-34/hour
Number of working days a year: 180
Location: Based in Woodland Hills ( 5975 Shoup Ave, Woodland Hills, CA 91367) with required occasional travel to Jefferson Park ( 3186 7th Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90018)
Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
