X-Ray Technician – Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Operate and understand radiologic technology.
· Perform X-rays, conduct clear scans of the body.
· Send out X-ray reports to Rapid Radiology. Follow-up on the results, obtaining provider sign off and attaching the signed report to the patient chart.
· Calling patients back with their Xray results and providing them with CD copies or written reports.
· Room patients and obtain basic medical information; recording patient's medical history; and taking vital signs, weight, and height.
· Prepare exam rooms, including setting equipment based on the procedure or purpose of examination and keeping the rooms neat and clean.
· Assist physicians with procedures, such as preparing and handing instruments/materials and shaving and disinfecting treatment sites.
· Performs simple laboratory tests that are typically performed in a medical office.
· Straighten up and clean exam rooms after patient encounters.
· Stock exam rooms and notify management of supply shortages to ensure efficient flow of operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills.
· A team player. Ability to work with physicians, anticipating their needs in regards to patient care.
· Passion for technology and using it to streamline patient care.
· Ability to follow OSHA/HIPPA guidelines.
Requirements:
· CRT certificate
· EMR experience
· 2 years of X-Ray Tech experience
· MA Certification Preferred
· Medical Assisting Experience or open to training
