Overview
Reports to the Director of Perioperative Services, this position is responsible to oversees the non-clinical, operational, and logistical functions of a hospital's surgical department. They coordinate staff, control supply allocation, and ensure surgical equipment and instruments are ready to maximize efficiency and patient safety, or compiling and maintaining records regarding procedures and other statistics for the department, procedural case management studies, and preparation of administrative financial reports and interdepartmental coordination of all charges generated by the Department of Surgery.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
Must have current BCLS
At least 1
year experience in acute
care setting preferred
Ability to speak
read and write in English
Knowledge of medical terminology
Proficient in the use of Word/Excel for creation of documents and reports.
