Serenity Care Health Group is a rapidly growing FQHC-LAL located across the County of Los Angeles. We offer comprehensive primary care and mental/behavioral health services to the under-insured and uninsured community members of Long Beach, the surrounding areas, and soon to other parts of Los Angeles. Under the supervision of the Clinic Operations team, the Clinic Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining the front and back-office duties as outlined in our policies and assist with other duties as assigned by Supervisor. We are looking for a dedicated Clinic Medical Assistant looking to grow a career with a fast-growing FQHC-LAL.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, patient-focused Medical Assistant whose primary responsibility will be supporting across multiple departments — including Primary Care, Mental Health, OB, and other clinical areas — and will provide support wherever needed to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient care.
25 hours starting, transitioning to full time.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates the ability to provide a high level of customer service and to work with patients of all ages with diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Greet and prepare patients for clinical services
- Conduct intake for patients, including vitals, histories, and chief complaints
- Collects vital signs and patient history, collects specimens and performs basic laboratory tests, as directed by the provider in addition to other clinical tasks.
- Coordinates patient care as directed by the provider and following company standards and policies.
- Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assists with setup and cleanup of office procedures; equipment sterilization; accurate documentation in electronic health record and medical supply inventory management.
- Adheres to all medical practice policies and procedures.
- Assists with checking in patients and running insurance eligibility.
- Supports our other clinical departments as needed.
- Performs administrative assessments for patient care as needed.
- Provides support in the organization's quality improvement efforts and performance improvement activities which includes data monitoring, and outreaching to patients.
- Tracks certain diagnostic tests and referrals relating to metrics/quality indicators, including contacting other clinics for records and locating past medical records to enter them correctly in this electronic health record.
- Assist with patient flow to ensure smooth daily operations
- Room and prepare patients for visits
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
- Stock and manage medical supplies as needed
- Provide support to front desk and administrative staff when necessary
- Collaborate with providers and team members to deliver patient-centered care
- Adapt to varying clinic needs with flexibility and teamwork
- Performs other duties as necessary and as assigned by Supervisor.
Safety and Infection Control Responsibilities
- Responsible to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including unit based specific safety and infection control requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year (preferred) medical office experience
- Medical Assistant Certificate REQUIRED
- Mandarin speaking REQUIRED
- English language proficiency
- A can-do attitude
- Physically equipped to perform regular duties as assigned
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
