Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Optometrist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, refraction assessments, and ocular health evaluations
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and ocular infections
- Prescribe corrective lenses and recommend appropriate treatment options tailored to each patient’s needs
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of corrective devices
- Collaborate with ophthalmology specialists for complex cases requiring advanced intervention or surgical referral
- Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Stay updated on the latest developments in ophthalmology, physiology knowledge, and medical terminology to provide cutting-edge care
Skills
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmology practices, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proven experience with optical equipment and understanding of optical principles for vision correction
- Ability to effectively communicate complex medical information with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and record keeping
- Excellent patient care skills combined with a compassionate approach to customer service
- Knowledge of medical coding procedures relevant to eye care services for billing accuracy
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and apply aseptic techniques during examinations
