We are seeking a dedicated and professional Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Urgent Care team. This is a unique opportunity to provide and facilitate care for an underserved population while working alongside a collaborative team of providers. The ideal candidate will bring a confident, can-do attitude, with the ability to balance both clinical and clerical duties in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily patient flow within the Urgent Care clinic
- Prepare and maintain exam/treatment rooms
- Perform basic patient triage
- Assist Providers with procedures
- Conduct Point-of-Care (POC) testing and EKGs
- Ensure sterilization of instruments and compliance with health regulations
- Administer medications (oral and injectable)
- Provide wound care and dressings
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies and order as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification in the State of California
- Certification through an approved agency such as the National Center for Competency Testing, California Certifying Board for MAs, National Association for Health Professionals, or equivalent
- Phlebotomy License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinic, urgent care, or primary care environment
